John Charles Schoening
September 17, 1947—January 28, 2013, 2012

John (Johnathon) Charles Schoening, 65, of Baltimore, Maryland, (formerly of Philadelphia) passed away peacefully on Monday January 28, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 17, 1947, to the late Carl and Alberta Schoening. John attended St. Williams and Cardinal Dougherty schools, both in Philadelphia, and then Northwestern University. Johnathon loved planning weddings and spending Christmases and vacations with his sister in her home in Wildwood, New Jersey.

Paul W. Ramey died December 29, 2012, at Gilcrest Hospice after a long battle with cancer, a challenge he met with supreme grace and courage, always thinking of others first. He will be remembered for his warm heart, his creativity, his positive attitude, and his generosity of spirit.

Here's to yet another GREAT....

Sorry. Trying to finish that statement is difficult for me. Last year, like the year before, I asked – begged - not to be visiting any more hospitals. Ha, ha, the joke is on me - again. As I sit here in my li’l office in between rehab sessions, I am reminded of yet another year that many of you did not see many People We Like columns. It wasn't that I didn't want to write them or that I didn't have people “asking” me to be one of my “victims.” I did, bring you an insider’s view to several members of the community that you may or may not know, but do now.

Earlier this year, after the new Miss Leon’s was announce, there was a bit of controversy involving the winner which opened the door for the first alternate to take over the title. She is no stranger to the world of drag or female impersonators. Granted, she has mostly been a behind-thescenes person, however, she is one you need to start paying attention to. Her name is Saable Jordan.
