Candidate Clippinger Pounds Pavement
Luke Clippinger, local attorney and candidate for the House of Delegates, District 46, hit a milestone recently. He’s knocked on 10,000 doors in his quest to be elected to the House from the 46th District. Maryland’s 46th District includes Baltimore neighborhoods such as Fells Point, Canton, Federal Hill, Curtis Bay, and Locust Point. Clippinger has been walking the neighborhoods of the District and meeting local residents since November of last year. Clippinger formally announced his candidacy in May.
“The people of this District deserve a Delegate that will fight for them. Walking these neighborhoods and talking with residents for the past 8 months has allowed me to bring their stories and their concerns with me to Annapolis,” said Luke Clippinger. “I am running for the House of Delegates because Baltimore’s best days are ahead – and they will be fueled by the energy of the people we attract by improving our quality of life. We have to start with the number one issue I’ve heard about at the 10,000 doors I’ve knocked on: crime.”
As an Assistant State’s Attorney, Clippinger fights to improve public safety by prosecuting cases of domestic violence, drunk driving, and drug possession.
Clippinger’s candidacy has already received the endorsements of the Victory Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland, Progressive Maryland and Equality Maryland. In addition, Clippinger is endorsed by Delegates Pete Hammen and Brian McHale, and Senator George Della, the incumbent representatives of the 46th District.
A product of Baltimore City Public Schools, Luke is a graduate of Roland Park Elementary-Middle School, and Poly, where he graduated in 1990. After receiving a BA from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, and a law degree from the University of Louisville, Luke returned home to Baltimore City, where he has since resided, now in the Riverside section of South Baltimore.
