New Directions? Help me OUT!!!

I’ll be completely honest and tell you in this opening sentence that this article is not about Fox’s TV sensation Glee.  I apologize if I’ve disappointed anyone, but I found the title to be completely fitting for where I am right now in my life.

On May 21, 2010, I graduated from Stevenson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre.  The culmination of my academic career was celebrated at a graduation ceremony that could only be described as pathetic.  Our University President gave a speech which held no connection to the student body but rather celebrated his personal triumphs, and the National Anthem was completely butchered.

What’s the Most Private Thing I’m Willing to Admit Here?

I’ve recently started divulging secrets of myself via my Facebook status. Instead of my usual inspiring quote or comedic citation, I’ve found myself admitting one secret each day to the 551 people I call friends. It started out as just a random thought; I was sitting at my computer and realized I hadn’t updated my status in a while and it felt appropriate at the time to write, “…Secret #1:…”

Are You Positive?

No really?  Are you sure you’re not HIV+ or carrying some other sexually transmitted disease [STD]?  If you are not absolutely certain that you are disease free then your next step of action is to get tested.

The World Health Organization finds that 25% of all college students in the U.S. are infected with an STD.  Furthermore, two thirds of all people infected with an STD are under the age of 25.
