Spend a Little, Gain a Lot

A rose doesn’t look the same to any two people. To a botanist it looks one way; to a poet it looks very different. And so too, a paper like OUTloudlooks very different depending on the viewer. But on this, the paper’s tenth anniversary, I thought it might be a good time to step back and dissect it for what it is.

The Delaware Senate on May 7 approved a bill that will allow same-sex marriage in the First State. The 12-9 vote came more than three hours after lawmakers began to hear testimony from House Bill 75 supporters and opponents.

Baltimore OUTloud Tenth Anniversary

To Our Advertisers

Wow! Ten years. Where did they go? I remember the day I was asked to meet Joe Berg and Jim Williams for lunch. I was wondering what I may have done. I went into this meeting with my guard way up. Anyway, they proceeded to explain to me what was about to happen. Then they asked me, “Would you like to get on board with us?” My first reaction was, “Are you sure?” We all laughed. Well I guess you all know the answer to the question. And so Baltimore OUTloud was born.

Alexander’s World

Special Tenth Anniversary Edition

I ain’t dead yet bitches! Contrary to popular belief, Alexander is not dead (at least I don’t think so). There have been many dirty rumors going around to the effect that I overdosed on one too many Botox and mascara injections, that my Mercedes went into the harbor after I imbibed several bottles of Grey Goose (at least I wasn’t accused of drinking rail), that I was murdered (like how many queens in this town can afford silver bullets), or that my poor heart simply gave out after years of hard living (of course, for that one to be true, I’d have to have a heart to begin with).

Breaking the Rainbow Barrier

NBA’s Jason Collins Becomes First Male Pro Athlete to Come Out

Jason Collins, a basketball player who last played for the Washington Wizards, became the first professional male athlete in the four major North American sports leagues – Major League Baseball, National Football League, National Hockey League and the National Basketball Association – to come out as gay while still an active player. Collins declared in the May 6 issue of Sports Illustrated, “I’m a 34-year-old NBA center. I’m black. And I’m gay.”

Multi-faceted Author Debuts ‘Mood Swings’ Column

Arguably, Wyatt O’Brian Evans is the quintessential Renaissance man. He is a journalist, author, instructor, motivational speaker, voice-over instructor/talent, entertainer, and entrepreneur.
